This Marin County Residence interior design is a contemporary interpretation of the mid-century modern style. The house comprises a timeless palette of materials chosen for their texture, longevity, and appropriateness for the modern yet warm and restful home.
This includes natural wood of several complementary types, modern yet sustainable fabrics, and a harmonious kitchen color palette of faded green. Plain, slightly textured white plaster walls, as well as extensive use of high-performance glazing.

The geometry of this kitchen draws inspiration from a minimalist open-space concept, purposefully designed without upper cabinetry to create a cohesive and visually calming atmosphere. The kitchen, crafted by Reform Kitchens, embodies understated sophistication and functional clarity. In the adjoining dining area, iconic Carl Hansen & Søn chairs lend timeless character, while the Heracleum Pendant by Moooi crowns the space with a sculptural, luminous accent — a graceful dialogue between form, light, and craftsmanship.

This simple volume of the master bathroom conveys clarity and comfort. Contrasting dark elements of painted black steel highlight the shapes of the furniture. Natural wood and subdued green tiles add warmth. The overall concept is based on the principle that the smaller the volume, the more color value it carries.

This bedroom embraces natural materials and a refined palette to create a timeless sense of comfort. A custom wood headboard introduces soft geometry, paired with sculptural lighting and warm textile layers. The Nelson Thin Edge Dresser adds a modernist clarity to the space — its slim profile and precise detailing complement the room’s quiet architecture and enhance the overall sense of considered simplicity.

This study is organized around simple materials, clear lines, and balanced proportions. The Pira Floor Shelving and muted green wall create a calm backdrop for work and reading. The Eames Lounge Chair, Eames Aluminum Group Chair, and Carl Hansen & Søn CH110 Desk establish the core of the room. Wood elements and a few selected objects bring warmth and function. The space remains open, orderly, and focused.
